February 4, 1495 - Wedding of Anne of York, daughter of Edward IV, and Thomas Howard, (the future) 3rd Duke of Norfolk at Greenwich Palace, London
Anne married Thomas Howard, Earl of Surrey and the son and heir of the 2nd Duke of Norfolk, but she died young and they had no surviving children. The Duke later married Elizabeth Stafford, daughter of the Duke of Buckingham and was the uncle of Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard.

February 4, 1694 – Death of Natalia Kirillovna Naryshkina, second wife of Tsar Alexei of Russia, mother of Peter the Great; buried at the Cathedral of the Archangel in Moscow

February 4, 1930 – Wedding of Prince Takamatsu of Japan and Tokugawa Kikuko

Alfred was the son of Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh and Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovna of Russia. He made a failed suicide attempt after a scandal with a mistress and died two weeks later.

A book programme last night said that today is the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens' birth - I'm surprised that Google haven't done a logo to honour this.

Edited to say that I've just wiki-ed Dickens, and he's actually 199 today! Still think he deserves a mention on Google though.

February 8, 1687 – Death of Mary, daughter of Queen Anne
Mary was one of the five of Queen Anne’s 18 children who were born alive and one of the three who lived longer than a day. At the age of 21 months she died of smallpox. Her sister Anne Sophia, aged nine months, died of smallpox six days earlier. Both children were buried at Westminster Abbey.

Catherine was the fourth daughter and eighth child of James II and his first wife Anne Hyde. Catherine's mother died of breast cancer when the infant was only 7 weeks old. Little Catherine died at 10 months at St. James' Palace and was buried in Westminster Abbey without ceremony.

February 9, 1763 – Birth of Ludwig I, Grand Duke of Baden

February 9, 1873 – Death of Caroline Augusta of Bavaria, fourth wife of Francis I of Austria; buried at the Imperial Crypt, Vienna

February 9, 1986 – Birth of Princess Raiyah Bint Al-Hussein of Jordan, daughter of King Hussein and his fourth wife Queen Noor

Prince Waldemar was the son of Victoria, Princess Royal and Kaiser Frederick III of Germany. He died of diphtheria at age 11, three months after his aunt Princess Alice and her daughter Princess May died from the same disease.
