November 28, 1290 – Death of Eleanor of Castile, wife of Edward I, at Harby, Nottinghamshire; buried at Westminster Abbey
Edward and Eleanor had a loving marriage and had 16 children. Edward was devastated when she died at the age of 49 in Nottinghamshire. In her memory, he had 12 crosses, known as the Eleanor Crosses erected where her body rested at each overnight stop on the way to London. Charing Cross in London is perhaps the most famous but the cross there is a reconstruction. Only three original crosses survive.

Many European royals can claim descent from Margaret Tudor. Margaret first married King James IV of Scotland and their son James V was the father of Mary, Queen of Scots. After James IV's death, she married Archibald Douglas, Earl of Angus and their daughter Lady Margaret Douglas was the mother of Henry, Lord Darnley. Darnley was the second husband of Mary, Queen of Scots and it was their son King James VI of Scotland, who succeeded Queen Elizabeth I as King James I.

She was a talented sculptor and the statue of Queen Victoria outside her birthplace Kensington Palace was done by Louise.

Little Catherine was the fourth daughter of James and his first wife Anne Hyde. Their two surviving daughters grew up to be Queen Mary II and Queen Anne. Catherine died at the age of 10 months and was buried in Westminster Abbey without ceremony. Her mother had died when Catherine was only seven weeks old.
