Emily, I am also new here. I heard about this site through Misfit at Goodreads, another great site with quite nice discussion groups, specially the European Royalty group.

Welcome from a fellow South Carolinian, Emily. I've been hooked on HF since high school in late 70's starting with Katherine by Anya Seton. Please add Seton to your ever growing list if you haven't already.

Check out her sub-forum here for forum member favorites. My Theodosia is about Aaron Burr's daughter who was married to a SC Alston from Waccamaw Neck. You might want to check it out someday. I grew up in the Lowcountry but left the waves for the mountains a few years ago and am discovering Upstate and western NC 18th and 19th century history lately.
