Does this list help? Unfortunately, the UK titles. I think some were renamed over here as well and I am sure there was one about Henrietta Maria which I am unable to identify. I think the City of London libraries have the full set in storage so they probably think there will be a resurgence of interest.

I also read Margaret Irwin when I was young, most notably Young Bess and also Maurice Druon translated from the French. I will try these again at some point to see if they hold up. I believe there is a 1950s film of Young Bess.

I reread Margaret Irwin's 'Good Queen Bess' trilogy last Christmas and found that they held up much better than any of the Plaidy's I've reread.

Note: It Began in Vauxhall Gardens was also published under the title Melisand. This was not one of Plaidy's more popular works (although I've read it twice -- the first time I thought it was really good, the second time, about 10 years later, I thought it was just ok), so it probably won't be re-published. But in case anyone's interested in hunting down a copy, you can find it under either title.

I read the Norman Trilogy and didn't think they were all that bad -- to me, they were about the same quality as the Plantagenet series (I didn't read that entire series, just the first 4 or so).

Jean Plaidy also published a NF work about the Spanish Inquisition -- originally 3 books, but also at some point combined into one. I want to take a crack at it and, believe it or not, my library system actually has it!
