YAY .I'm safe.

:)

I think the reason I was invited to Vine was because I spent so much money one year that they decided to throw me a bone. that is the only thing I can think of. My reviews are decent. Some are top pics on an item, but I'm not burning up the charts, ya know what I mean.

The high ticket items are still out of my reach though. Biggest thing I ever got was a CD program on how to learn Italian.

I'm not purchasing much these days except for freebies (although I am running some company purchases through that account), but I've managed to snag a couple of nice things. No treadmill yet, but I really do like the Serta gel foam mattress pad I got last month. I didn't even notice the price until after it came. Nice haul ;)

See I never get anything so cool. And I'll be honest our choices lately have SUCKED. God forbid you say that in the vine forum though. Yikes. But I havent taken a free book in nearly 4 months. I've been taking laundry soap and things like that so I can just post reviews and stay active.

No one knows for sure how they figure your targeted newsletter, but I'm sure what you purchase has some affect on it. I know after I purchased a vacuum from them and then next newsletter I was offered the Bissell Spot Bot. I had a separate Amazon account for company purchases but just for fun I decided to run them through my main one and see if it changed the newsletter offerings - really haven't seen much change though. A mystery.
In the review I saw last night, which prompted my post on this thread this morning, she complained that she had such a hard time trying to figure out the pronunciation of the main character's name that it kept her distracted for the first half of the novel. The main character's name is Maire, and the author has a glossary in back which says it is pronounced "MOY-ra." How hard is that? I was tempted to comment that maybe she should stick with books where the characters have names like Sally, Dick and Jane. But I hate it when other people post smart-alecky comments like that, so of course I didn't. :D Of course, maybe she isn't like me and doesn't peek at the back of the book and so didn't see the glossary until she was finished. :D :p I've seen several of her other reviews and they are inane at best and sometimes inaccurate. She doesn't seem of the same caliber of most other Vine Voice reviews I've seen. But I guess people must find her helpful, nevertheless.
I've been taking laundry soap and things like that so I can just post reviews and stay active.
That's not too bad -- like $$ in your pocket that you don't have to spend at the grocery store. :) I do keep an eye on my ranking -- I'm just curious to see what if anything I'll get if I ever get high enough. Maybe a signed letter from Harriet? :p
