Hello everyone.
I'm lucky enough to live in Wharfedale (really was part of Brigantia) and the landscape here inspired me to write. I'm on the 2nd of a 4-part series: Year of the Celt set in Brigantia around 500BC.
Fascinated by the Celts and pre-Roman Britain in general.
There's a website for the books but I'm not sure i'm allowed to post it yet?
Looking forward to meeting you.
Hi Rob and welcome. Do you intend to write a quartet of novels based around the seasonal Celtic festivals?
Thats the plan. The first is done and I'm now on the 2nd. The first (Year of the Celt: Imbolc) begins days after Samhain and ends on the night of Imbolc.
The 2nd (Year of the Celt: Beltane) follows on until the Beltane festival. I guess you can work out the last two.
The story is a year in the life of a tiny settlement in Wharfedale struggling through a mini ice age and refugees seeking help as they flee the encroaching ice. Its a mix of drama, romance and adventure with a message for the future.
