Nazi Bride School

Post by annis » Wed October 9th, 2013, 7:50 am

In the "truth is stranger than fiction" category, documents found in Germany’s Federal Archive reveal a program designed to turn young women into perfect Nazi wives, with rules on how to cook, sew, iron, breed children and also worship Der Fuhrer, Adolf Hitler. According to a report in Britain’s Daily Mail tabloid, these “bride schools” in Nazi Germany were run by Gertrud Scholtz-Klink, the leader of the NS-Frauenschaft (National Socialist Women's League) and a close friend of SS chief Heinrich Himmler (who, in the extra-creepy category, was apparently often to be seen sneaking around "bride school" gardens hoping to catch a glimpse of the girls).

One of the creepier Nazi initiatives was the Lebensborn project - a eugenics experiment in action. Worst thing was the children produced by this programme who no one wanted after the war ended - they had a horrendous time.
