Hi you two! :)

Tonight I will be starting on The Last Train to Istanbul by Aise Kulin. Apparently it's translated from Turkish to English so it will be interesting to see how well that is done. I received this through the Vine program and only have six more days to review so I need to get on it! What do they do if you're late on a review?
They cut you off from getting any more free stuff. Three weeks until next newsletter, so don't sweat too much.

Whew OK thanks! I always try not to order too many books from Vine because they get in the way of my books I want to read but I can't seem to help it and always order at least one. I've only been back into reviewing vine things the past few months after years of letting it slip. I'm surprised I'm still in the program.

They have instituted a new 100% rule of items reviewed. There is no slacking.

Back to what I'm reading, almost done with the new Sandra Dallas book and sorely disappointed my guesses were correct. Found my copy of The Demon Lover for a group read at GR.

Finished the new Sandra Dallas book. Meh. I guessed most of the big mystery way too early. Going to start The Demon Lover by Victoria Holt for group read at the Jean Plaidy group at GR.

Lion of the Sun, 3rd in Harry Sidebottom's Warrior of Rome series. Having gotten over my peeve that Ballista would quote from a "long-remembered" piece of poetry that couldn't have been written in his times, I'm now charging through the series- excellent stuff.

Sonja, Are you still working on reading biographies of British monarchs? I saw Antonia Fraser's bio of Charles II on your August list.
