Lack of interest?

Lack of interest?

Post by njslater » Fri May 17th, 2013, 9:03 am

Have you seen how few threads have been started on this site since the start of 2013? Disturbingly few which is rather worrying for the future unless something is done to revitalise interest.

Interest in HF: I can't answer this in 100 characters. Sorry.
Favourite HF book: Checkmate, the final novel in the Lymond series
Preferred HF: Literary novels. Late medieval and Renaissance.

I don't think this is lack of interest. It's just that there are already existing threads on most of the good HF authors and on a very wide variety of other topics. No need to start a new thread when one already exists!
Browse over 5000 historical novel listings (probably well over 5000 by now, but I haven't re-counted lately) and over 700 reviews at www.HistoricalNovels.info

Not to mention some pretty long threads!

Yes, maybe it's a sign of a well-established forum that the vast majority of posts are to existing threads, rather than in new ones.

If the actual number of posts are down, that would be another matter potentially.

Very much so. Discussion boards ebb and flow. Sometimes Goodreads is so busy I can't keep up with it all, then other days nothing is happening and I have to go and read ;) :p

Feel free to start new threads, if you've got any ideas.
