Return to Downton Abbey (US broadcast)

Post by princess garnet » Sun December 1st, 2013, 5:55 pm

*Bumping up an older thread*

Of interest to fellow US members, PBS will be showing a "Return to Downton Abbey" special hosted by Susan Sarandon tonight at 9 pm. Check local listings for your area!

I've been getting my "Downton Abbey" fix on Sundays lately because a PBS station in central Virginia has been rerunning the entire series. It comes on at 10 pm. Starting next Sunday (12/8) they'll rebroadcast the 3rd season.

Remind me- when does season 4 start on PBS? I want to know what happens!
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

Did anyone else last night feel like:
I mean, there are differences, but that's what it reminded me of.

I loved earlier DA, but it's just become too unbearably sudsy for me these days and I'm not bothering to watch Season 4. The Brits are usually quite good at not thrashing a good thing to death, but sadly not the case here.

Saw this interview with Dan Stevens on NBC's "Today" earlier this morning. His upcoming movie was also discussed.

I liked the bit of Anna mentioning her former fellow housemaid Gwen Dawson (played by Rose Leslie in 1st season) while they were in the servants dining room. It sounded Gwen had well since she left!

I liked it. I'm not sure about the Ken Follet thing cause I never read the book. But I dont mind it. Or will she do it? Or will she just be an independant woman? Which in the end I think is what is going to happen.

Series 4 isn't as eventful as Series 3, and that's all I'm saying!

I was about to write off the show tonight - got very bored and disgusted. But then, well - I'll keep watching to see
I hope I don't have to wait too long.
