Truly absurd book covers.

I got this post in the latest newsletter from the Folio Society -- some of the most inane book covers ever.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

Thanks for the laugh! I kept scrolling down and chortling. The cover of Kipling's Kim with all the multicolored walkmen was a screech!

Oh, that's hilarious.
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

Oh my. Those are some truly horrid covers!! Being a book cover designer, I have a lot of opinions on covers so I'm always looking around for blogs and sites dedicated to cover design in particular. :D I'm now following this one - thanks!!

My favorite site for the collection of hideous cover design is:

Ha, some of those (like the Treasure Island one) are amazing! Worse than random.

WTF? Love the cover of the book with the title The Story of the Greeks plastered over the distinctive image of an ancient Egyptian! Ah well, they're all ancient, right? Must count for something :)

Ha ha, what a great collection, thank you for posting them! The 'Geographical F'witteries' especially did it for me. I'm pleased to be a new member of this site, there is such a lot to see and I'm enjoying exploring the threads - there are no doubt plenty more gems for me to find :D

Hilarious book covers

This was another fun thing I found on Buzzfeed this afternoon. Warning- most of those aren't safe for work. And the laughter might distract your co-workers.
