House of Cards

Post by fljustice » Sat February 9th, 2013, 8:17 pm

Anyone streaming Netflix's original program House of Cards with Kevin Stacey and Robin Wright? They have thirteen episodes up and we've binged on the first four. Like the Stacey character's asides and looks as the camera. Also like the way they set up "old media" vs "new media" with the Washington Herald (print newspaper) and Slugline (online blogs.) Intrigued so far and will continue to watch. Also added the original British version from the nineties to the Netflix list.

Loved the British version! Ian Richardson was so slimy!

"Oh, I couldn't possibly comment!"

Take a look back at the original 1991 British version from the "Masterpiece Theater" online archives; it was done in 4 parts.

Oh I loved the Ian Richardson version and bought them all on DVD! The acting is just superb even if the storyline was a little OTT at times(what was it with the whole 'daddy' thing?).

LOL@Princess Garnet :p

I wonder if Kevin Spacey's version is on Youtube? I'll check it out later.

Finished the series in three days. (Netflix has made a thing about the change in viewing habits from the wait-a-week to binge-on-a-season that is available through streaming/digital archive now.) Very much enjoyed it. Stacey makes a creepy spider in the middle of the power web. Wright is a great power wife with her own career and agenda. Looking forward to the next "season."

I will keep an eye out for the DVD....Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright can act, but I don't think it will be as good as the original.

A next season? I guess this version is not following the original series or the novel. Original series and novel do have differences.
