A Free Short Story

Post by Elizabeth » Sun January 20th, 2013, 8:57 pm

Today is the Eve of the Feast of St. Agnes, and so tonight is the night when old legends say you can dream of your one true love.

Here's a link to a free short story set in the world of The Flower Reader, which was originally published in the Scottish magazine My Weekly. The magazine has kindly given me permission to offer the story and their beautiful artwork. The document is a PDF.

The Eve of Saint Agnes by Elizabeth Loupas
Enjoy, and may you dream tonight of your heart's desire! :)

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

Thanks, Elizabeth, I enjoyed that very much! Although the column formatting lost me for a bit when at first I missed the sections under the picture to the right.

You're very welcome! You're right, the layout probably did work better in the paper magazine itself--but the artwork was so lovely I wanted to use the PDF they sent me.

Thanks for reading! :)
