Former Lurker, Now Virgulina

Post by Virgulina » Tue August 26th, 2008, 5:06 pm

I mostly lurked before, never got around to posting, now I decided to step out of the shadows and introduce myself.

My name is Ana and I'm a Portuguese bookworm, I tend to be very eclectic in my readings, usually only shying away from sci-fi. I have an enormous TBR pile (I'm not revealing numbers! :D ) and you lot are responsible for some of my latest additions, so keep up the good work!

I usually blog here, not as often as I'd like though, sometimes I get too lazy! :p

So that's me!
Ana

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Welcome back and so glad you've decided to post! I'm varied in reading tastes as well. Sci-fi world building isn't for me too much, but I love the horror/paranormal genre. I leave true crime alone, but enjoy forensic thrillers. And I could go on with others, but won't. :)

Paranormals are my latest addiction, I've recently discovered Patricia Briggs, Nalini Singh, J. R. Ward and others. In the sci-fi romance area I've heard that Linnea Sinclair is worth your time but although I have two of her books in my TBR, I've yet to try them.

Thanks for the welcome! :)

My avatar was done by a talented friend, she used the work of William-Adolphe Bouguereau, she also did my blog header.

I didn't think I knew who you were, but I read your blog. I just am not the best with commenting... Anyways, I noticed you read Patricia Briggs and thought that was great! She's one of my favourite authors!

I've read the first two Mercy Thompson books and have the third one waiting, I want to finish this before I start with Anna and Charles but am very curious about this new series, it seems to be getting rave reviews.
Oh and I usually visit your blog too! :)

Cry Wolf is on its way to me this week! I am not sure I am going to like it as much as Mercy, but I am still looking forward to it. I thought I preordered it and could kick myself because it turns out I didn't! It will be next year before I get more from the other series, though, so I have to make do!
