So Amazon have made it near impossible for affiliates to promote freebies. Luckily, I'm not an affiliate. So eff them, here's today's freebies:

Of Moths and Butterflies by V.R. Christensen
The Ragtime Kid: A Ragtime Mystery by Larry Karp
The Phantom of Valletta by Vickie Hopkins (paranormal)
Sins of the Blood (Sister Frevisse Medieval Mysteries) by Margaret Frazer (short stories)
Brimstone (Earth Air Fire and Water) by Alan Skinner
The Fox by Arlene Radasky
The Princess Of Egypt Must Die by Stephanie Dray (novella)
Susanna and the Spy by Anna Elliott
Cocaine Blues: Phryne Fisher #1 by Kerry Greenwood

ereaderiq.com is no longer displaying them in a detailed and customizable list on their website (they SAY they will display the most popular ones but at the moment that is definitely not true - only two HF books are displayed and I don't think either are very popular with only 8 and 11 reviews!) but you CAN still use the advanced Kindle search on their website to view all freebies by category on Amazon.

So here's all historical fiction freebies: http://www.amazon.com/s/?rh=n:157059011 ... irect=true

And here's all history book freebies (should be mostly non-fiction but some novels are incorrectly categorized in there): http://www.amazon.com/s/?rh=n:156576011 ... irect=true

Anyone should be able to bookmark these links to use later themselves but I will continue to post the ones I think are of most interest here, not only for the sake of the readers but also just to piss Amazon off!

My pre-order price is a bit higher than that, darn it.

The frustration for me is that a lot of these deals don't apply to anyone outside the US/UK :(

How does it work for you guys - do you still order Kindle books from Amazon.com, but it's a specific NZ version with NZ prices? I remember reading a Kindle forum discussion about a British lady who had moved to France who was annoyed she didn't have access to all the UK books (and freebies) any more. Someone told her just to use Amazon.com, that it worked worldwide, but I wasn't so sure about that (and it would depend where the Kindle was registered to as well I suppose). I'm very likely to move to France at some point and one downside is that there's some law there preventing books from dropping below a certain price! I do appreciate living in the UK, with our bargains aplenty.

Also, that's a bummer about the pre-order price, Misfit. Have you read it yet? If you have, at least then the higher price might seem more justified :)

In my case I can get the books from amazon.com. Everytime I go there it bugs me to switch the kindle to amazon.es. I do not think so thank you very much.
For me, about half the free books arent free and the rest have a 18% taxes added, so that book up there for 0.99 $ was actually 1.17 $. In fact they haven't figured out they should be applying a 21%. Don't tell them please :D

*nods head* I know..It's a pain and a little unfair. Why is Australia and NZ often excluded from downloading these books for a cheaper price? Grrrr *growls menacingly at Amazon* lol.

And sometimes prevented from downloading them at all! Some will say "not available to your area" but sometimes they don't even appear on kindle if you search for them, and you know it is available because you have read reviews on blogs etc!

I am trying to restrict as much of my new book buying as I can to kindle, as the books around here are totally out of hand. I am proud that since having the kindle I have only bought a couple of books (The Downton Abbey books....because of the pictures).

And some of the books that are bargains to US readers are 9.99 for us! The publishers are to blame aren't they?

Frustrating!
