As my brother said when he saw the pic of his new canine family member "Goodbye, Die Fledermaushund (Siddy). Guten tag, Die Fledernonnehund." Meet Penelope - who has ears like The Flying Nun.
Gossamer kitten and Penelope puppy getting alone all right. First link above is of them sort of playing a bit for really their first time. *Aww*

Thank you! She's having some adjustment issues, but nothing catastrophic - only exhausting. Gossamer is having some too, but - even though he's a little younger than she is - I am looking to him as an elder statesman between the two.

Thanks, y'all!
Gossy and Pen are really playing a lot now, and Pen seems to be adjusting. She's getting the hang of peeing outside, but poop habits remain at issue, but she'll get there. She's showing me she's actually quite good off-leash (though I won't let her beyond the yard that way!), which is new for me but welcome indeed.
She has big beautiful teeth and the faintest underbite. That along with a shorter, thicker nose and those EARS gives her an insouciant look. Her eyes are "people eyes" - you can see the whites, which are so clear and bright. Her tail and the way her head wrinkles when she's worried or curious speaks to some Basenji in her, but she can bark (though she's judicious with her very loud voice, and I don't discourage her on that pretty much). She's high energy and still needs to put on weight, but I'm finding her pretty irresistible. I thinks she's gaining some confidence and likes it here.
She and that cat, right now, are probably about the best relationships in my life.

Brenna, even as I read your response, Pen was sitting by the kitchen doorway having a neck scratch, and Gossamer came up behind the wall and swatted at her with a velvet paw. Little instigator! Hilarious, and cute.
