Do Canadians consider this war as being between the US and Canada? I'd never really seen it that way but it is not a period I'm particularly interested in.
I wonder what the Canadian government's interest is here? I'd be interested to hear from North Americans on this one, especially any Canadians.

First I admit to not knowing much about this conflict outside of Dolly Madison and the burning White House (and very vague about that), I'm surprised at a strong Canadian reaction coming 100 years later. I'd love to know what our Canadian members think of this.
