Hello from Old Kilpatrick, Scotland

Post by Wolfshead » Wed September 26th, 2012, 3:28 pm

Hi all, my name is Steven McKay, I'm a 35 year old man from Old Kilpatrick near Glasgow.
I've just finished my first novel, "Wolf's Head" - a retelling of the Robin Hood legend. I've tried to keep it as historically accurate as possible, while writing in a style accessible to modern audiences. It's fast paced, gritty and violent, but with some tender moments as well. I've had excellent feedback from the people who have read it (not just my mum, really!). I expected men to like it mostly, but women seem to be enjoying it even more (or are perhaps just more vocal when it comes to making nice comments). :D
I've sent it off to some agents and had a few rejections so far, but I'll keep trying until there's none left, then I'll look at Amazon's KDP. One way or another I will get this out there, I've started the second part of the series so it has to go somewhere...
Here's my facebook page if anyone is interested http://www.facebook.com/RobinHoodNovel?ref=hl
When I get 50 likes I'll post chapter 2, hopefully it keeps people interested until I can get it out there.

Welcome, Stephen and good luck with your book. I visited Glasgow several years ago and traveled up the west coast. Lovely country!
