I find her interesting, and want to read more. Nonfiction is preferable, but fiction is good too.
I already have When Christ and His Saints Slept by Sharon Kay Penman, and now Lady of the English by Elizabeth Chadwick.

Empress Matilda/ Maud
Into battle we ride with Gods by our side
We are strong and not afraid to die
We have an urge to kill and our lust for blood has to be fulfilled
WE´LL FIGHT TILL THE END! And send our enemies straight to Hell!

'Warrior Queens' by Antonia Fraser is an interesting non-fiction discussion of women leaders in war throughout history. It has a chapter on Empress Maud and it's interesting to see her story in context with others.

Chibnall's is the main biography. I seem to recall that Nesta Payne (sp, not looked it up, might be Pain(e) ) wrote one but I haven't read it.
