[quote=""SonjaMarie""]Questions: "The Autobiography of Mrs. Tom Thumb", historical fiction or just a general fiction novel?

IIRC, Mrs. TB was a real person as were most characters in the book.

I am reading The Second Empress by Michelle Moran! Maria-Lucia/Maria-Louise is someone I know absolutely nothing about, so I am enjoying quite a bit. I also don't know all that much about Napoleon.

I did like it, but it's one of those library books and not one I'd want on the keeper shelf. A very refreshing change in subject matter and interesting seeing how one had to deal with being so much smaller.

Yes, but they're not really historical figures like kings and queens or presidents, etc.

I'm enjoying it so far.

I ordered Her Highness, the Traitor on my kindle as I don't know how long I will be living in this house. When I order from Amazon U.S.A it can take up to 6-8 weeks for books to arrive. So my kindle is proving to be very handy :D

Finished The True Memoirs of Little K. Once I got over my total dislike for the main character, I found a gem of a story about life in pre revolution Russia, and the aftermath of the fall of the Tzar. I think she should have ended the book with their flight to Paris - the rest was just a very extended epilogue. I also didn't care for the authors tendency to 'talk' to the reader 'now I will tell you about' or 'later I will tell you that story'. No, show me not tell me! But But despite these problems, she managed to keep my attention for a few days straight of reading. Im glad to have read it; I certainly learned much about the time period that I didn't know and lots about ballet!
