Quite good so far - well-written. I've read one of her other books - Sacrifice - but this looks like being the first in a crime series.

Just started Golden Fox by Wilbur Smith.

The contemporary novel I just finished, The Perks of being a Wallflower, is absolutely fantastic and highly recommended.

Finished the NF The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives by Leonard Mlodinow. Lots of math history and eye-opening research on the illusion of patterns and the patterns of illusion. Next up on the TBR shelf is Liberty by Garrison Keillor.

I liked The Kitchen House. It's a fast read. It was on my nook--I forgot all about it. I don't think it's realistic, but I was engrossed.

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area
