Hi everyone,
As I am now on the panel of Reviewers for the Historical Novel Society and I read like a man possessed, I thought I would start a blog to showcase Historical Fiction.
If anyone here would like to follow it, here are the details:
http://sir-readalot.blogspot.com
Email: [email protected]
Twitter: SirReadalotUK
If there is anyone who would like me to review a book they have written, please get in touch!
Thanks
Stuart

Hi Stuart. Your review of Eagle has definitely got me interested in the novel. I too am fussy about historical accuracy and good writing (there is a place for alternative historical fiction but it is a separate category).
Want to have a look at Centurion's Daughter? I had to sweat the research for it, since the period is not well documented. A pity, as it is a fascinating time, the transition point between Antiquity and the Mediaeval era, with events happening that would have a huge impact on the future.
If you can manage it I would appreciate a review. The book is available on Amazon (paperback and kindle) but I could try to persuade my editor to send you a review copy. Failing that I have one or two copies spare: I can send you one of those. Let me know.
Check the link in my signature. it'll give you an idea of what the book's about.
Right now I'm writing a spin-off, Crescentius the Great, which takes place towards the end of a ten-year war between Clovis and the surviving towns of the former province of Roman Gaul, allied to the Bretons whose cavalry was peerless. This is all historical, but one has to read very carefully between the lines of writers like Procopius and Gregory of Tours to put the picture together. Hard work, but it's virgin territory for an HF writer, so why not?
All the best for your blog. It is very professional and I hope it goes from strength to strength.
