Hello! from new novelist Daniel A. Willis

Post by DanielAWillis » Wed March 21st, 2012, 6:16 pm

I was most pleased to discover this forum!

My name is Daniel A. Willis and I have recently published my first novel, Immortal Betrayal. I will give a through discription in the announcemnt area.

Although this is my first novel, it is not my first book. I have written several non-fiction works about Europe's royal families, usually from a genealogical perspective. Some examples would be books I have written about Britain's King William IV and his descendants by his illegitimate kids and an ebook I wrote about the Romanovs exploring their lives today.

I love all periods of history, but I usually limit my geographic scope to Europe and the US.

In my non-writing life, I live in Denver and work for the State of Colorado. I am a widower and the father of two grown sons. I used to be a travel agent and still enjoy traveling when time and money allow it.

The list of non-fiction books:
The House of Habsburg, A Genealogy of the Descendants of Empress Maria Theresia (out of print)
The Descendants of Louis XIII (out of print)
The Descendants of King George I of Great Britain
Romanovs in the 21st Century (eBook only)
William IV, Mrs. Jordan and the Family They Made
The Archduke's Secret Family
A Reference Guide to the Royal Families: What Every Reporter (and Royal Fan) Needs to Know (a annually updated guide book)

Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favourite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.
Location: California Bay Area

I am a huge fan of vampires, but not the kind that sparkle. I like my mon sters to have a little more bite.

Mario Acevedo, another Denver-based author, has a series of detective novels where the main character is a vampire. They are known as the Felix Gomez series.

A lot of other readinf is non-fiction and usually somehow ends up being research for one of my books.
