'Mute' autistic man stuns experts with his amazing singing voice
I know at least a handful of members here either have children with autism or know someone who does. Over the last few years I've come in contact with more parents of autistic children than I have in my whole life. As a single woman it's difficult enough for me to imagine raising a "normal" child, much less one with autism. I stand in awe of each of you raising a child with autism and cannot begin to fathom how difficult it can be. Having said that, though, it warms my heart to see how some can overcome their limitations and communicate with the world around them. I will definitely be purchasing this young man's CD. I hope others will, too, whether there's autism in your family or not.
Thanks for sharing this Rowan. Simply amazing. I have an special needs adult son (Down Syndrome) and I can just imagine how thrilled his mom and family are to have discovered a way that he can share his thoughts with them. I'll look for him on itunes come April.

Thanks for posting, Rowan (and for the kind words for parents of autistic children)! My grown son is almost completely nonverbal, save for something that resembles "Good night" on occasion and consistently mooing when we pass a Chik-Fill-A (due to cows in the restaurant's ads).
I am sitting here crying after listening to that!
Amanda, when I initially posted this thread, I was unable to listen to the video on the article because YouTube is blocked at work after 9 AM. When I got home Thursday evening, though, I looked it up and had a listen and got choked up too.
