I might be a bit slow picking up on this, but just noticed that production is underway for a movie version of this book- will be interesting to see what they do with it. Kate Winslet has been confirmed in the role of Julie Ashton, the rest of the cast to be advised.

Interest in HF: The first historical novel I read was Katherine by Anya Seton and this sparked off my interest in this genre.
Favourite HF book: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell!
