I'm guessing a lot of it has to do with Amazon's KDP program, which I think is mentioned somewhere in this thread. Sometime in the three month period the authors have to make their books available for free, I think the number of times is two. I just sit and wait and lurk the freebie bestseller lists.

Indeed, there appears to be a number of bargain promos in the UK store:

The Darling Strumpet by Gillian Bagwell - £0.49
Rivals in the Tudor Court by Darcey Bonnette - £1.99
The King's Concubine by Anne O'Brien - £3.72
The Borgia Bride by Jeanne Kalogridis - £2.99
Nefertitiby Michelle Moran - £2.04
Jezebelby Eleanor De Jong - £1.99
Delilahby Eleanor De Jong - £1.99
She Wolves: The Women Who Ruled England Before Elizabeth by Helen Castor - £5.69 (good price for non-fiction).

What's going on? Maybe I should have stuck with the UK store, lol.

1st book in the Bregdan Chronicles is FREE!

Post by SandyJ » Sun June 10th, 2012, 4:02 pm

My favorite author right now is Ginny Dye. I discovered her because she is giving away her first book in the Bregdan Chronicles! I didn't know what to expect when I read her first book Storm Clouds Rolling In - but I didn't expect to not be able to put it down! I've started Book 2 (On to Richmond) and have already bought 3 & 4. I emailed her (she actually responded!) and she told me Book # 5 comes out this Fall, and that one will follow every 6 months - a series that follows history in the US from 1860 - ??. She covers a year with each book - bringing it to life in a fabulous way. I LOVE her books! Besides fabulous writing and characters I've fallen in love with, she really makes me think. Go get the FREE book at http://www.BregdanChronicles.com.
