a few books But not alot. I think I got around 5 or something. Most were nonfiction. Which is fine, though a little surprising. Then I looked at my amazon list and realized I had very few fiction books. Must be a slow year....

I got a victorian chair reupholstered
two nie blankets.
a pretty leather journal
pearl earrings
and other odds n' ends.

Two gift cards from my indie bookstore allowed me to buy:

Julian Barnes Sense of an Ending
Dovekeeper
Rober Massie's Catherine the Great

Waiting for their New Years Day 25% off sale to get me a few others on my list that weren't under the tree, such as Ann Patchett's State of Wonder.

A faux fur coat, some lovely earrings, the usual smellies, socks, etc, etc, and a couple of books - The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and The Penguin Complete Novels of Nancy Mitford. My daughter bought me the The Official Dictionary of Sarcasm - not sure what she's trying to tell me!! Strange gift.

Brenna--jealous of the SKP postcard!

ejays17--jealous of the Lewis chess set!

I received a Kindle Fire (hate the backlit situation, the heaviness of it; love the ease of downloading books). My husband gave me a necklace engraved in the likeness of the labyrinth on the floor of the cathedral at Reims. St. Augustine's quote: Solvitur ambulando (It is solved by walking) is written on the back. Since my visit to Chartres, I've been fascinated with labyrinths.
