Interest in HF: The first historical novel I read was Katherine by Anya Seton and this sparked off my interest in this genre.
Favourite HF book: Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell!

They're great aren't they? Have you seen this video of the Military Wives choir singing at the Albert Hall. The choirmaster Gareth Malone - a genius if ever there was one, took a group of miltary wives with no singing experience, whose husbands/partners were on duty in Afghanistan and turned them into a choir. The words of the song come from extracts of the letters they sent to their loved ones. The men all arrived home safely about three weeks ago. :D

Love this! I was a Navy wife for 30 years and those long deployments are tough on the crew and on the folks left on shore. I can't imagine how hard it was for a planned 7 week deployment to turn into 7 month deployment.
