Ahem, I was lucky to get an early copy. I'll jump in later when you've got a bit farther. Like the cooking lesson ;)

Im about half way through, and loving it of course. And frustrated, as this week has been crazy busy and I don't even have time to read at lunch time like I usually do!

One thing that really stands out for me in this book is the interconnectedness of the whole region. Globalization is not just a 21st century phenomena!

I'm just over 100 pages in and loving it! I'm thoroughly enjoying learning more about Joanna. She seems to compliment Richard very well and the rapport between them seems so natural. The scene with Richard, Morgan, and the hawk was hilarious! So nice to see a different side of Richard.

I am thoroughly ashamed to admit that I did not pick up on Morgan's relationship to previous books until a mention at the end. That really was a nice touch.

I've been on the fence about whether to buy this one now or wait until the paperback comes out (because the Crusades inexplicably make my eyes glaze over and because I've never really warmed toward Richard), but you all are tempting me!

I would mention that this is one book when you really really need to refer back to the cast of characters and I'd think carefully about that before choosing a kindle version over a *real book*. I don't know how easy it is to navigate back to something like that.

covers my face and *weeps* profusely :p ...I am still waiting for LionHeart! But one of the things I love about Penman is that she is able to introduce humour into her characters and make it feel so real and human.

*stamps foot* HURRY UP AMAZON! Grrrrr lol

Bec, you seriously remind me of myself earlier this year when my copy of EC's Lady of the English appeared lost forver in the mail. There was some serious pouting going on there :o
