Internet Movie Databasw http://www.imdb.com has the film listed as "in development" with a release year of 2012. Not sure if I believe that though.

Much as I loved the books (except for Echo), I do enjoying seeing critical reviews, and most of them have very valid points. I've decided I'd never survive a reread and will probably swap off my copies (I can always go library if I change my mind).
Haven't heard much, and I finally stopped following Gabaldon's blog. She really really carries on too much and her posts are awfully wordy.
