John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction

Post by jessicajames » Mon August 1st, 2011, 2:58 pm

:) It's nice to have a place like this to share good news. I've learned that my new Civil War novel Noble Cause has won the John Esten Cooke Award for Southern Fiction. This is an award that has been received by many notable authos and New York Times bestsellers so I am very excited to have my book honored in this way.

The MOSB that gives out the award has just decided on a date to make the presentation (in September), so I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do with the award money. I'm thinking however of someplace warm and historic in the South in January or February (like Charleston or Savannah) :)

Thanks everyone for your support and congrats! I actually just received the physical award - it's beautiful - and since I bought a new dress and heels for the presentation might even post a photo in the future :)
