Hello from Gettysburg

Post by jessicajames » Tue July 12th, 2011, 2:07 pm

Hello! So glad to be able to chat with other lovers of historical fiction. You may guess from my location that the Civil War is my favorite era, but I also enjoy Revolutionary War fiction. I would love recommendations tho I find that I enjoy fiction written by 19th century or early 20th century authors more than contemporary ones.

If you enjoy Americana historical sites, you might like my Life in the Past Lane blog where I talk about places, battlefields, old houses I visit. (Love old houses!)

For the sake of full discloser, I am an author.

Welcome, Jessica!

I have fond memories of visiting the Gettysburg battlefield on a sweltering summer's day in 1990. I spent a summer during my uni years working in Philly, and that was a weekend away. A great place to set a novel!

Welcome, Jessica! I went though an American history phase several years ago, but haven't visited for awhile. Any favorite books about the Revolution or Civil War that you'd like to recommend?
