Ludlow - especially for Sonja Marie
And some dumb American if they bought such a place would want to rip it all out and make it "modern"
I sometimes detest my countrymen/women who are hellbent on making things "new" and "updated"

Oh some Brits do it too, Divia. There's been a trend in the last few years with old pubs -keep the outside fabric of the building, but go inside and it's like going through a reverse time-warp - everything's hideously modern and "funky". Although a few places are now going back to more traditional decor; presumably it's not too popular. Modern is fine in the right setting but there's nothing worse than walking in expecting to find a cosy bar, and instead being dazzled by chrome and glass.

Blah. I would hate that. I have been looking at old Victorian homes, because I love the woodwork and tin ceilings in them, but often they are ripped out for more modern things. Hate it!
