Thanks for the feedback. I have since posted another one for Penguin - but it takes up so much time. I feel guilty I should actually be writing instead! How do regular bloggers work it into their schedule?

It does eat into my time. That's why you have to be clear about why you're blogging. Some folks blog for personal reasons. They may do no or little other writing. Others are providing a service related to something they love (book review sites, for example) and may or may not monetize their blogs. Others consider their blog part of their "platform" and marketing strategy. The question then is, "Does the time put into blogging pay back as much as other uses of my time to promote my work?" I haven't answered that question for myself yet.
