I had trouble going to sleep last night so I asked my husband to reset the alarm clock with the intention of sleeping through the wedding. But I woke up on my own at 4 AM. Just in time to see William and Harry arrive.

I absolutely loved Kate's gown. I knew it would be classy when I read that she had loved Grace Kelly's wedding gown. Was not disappointed. I also liked that the veil was so simple.

Pippa's dress didn't bother me a bit. I thought she looked fantastic. Though we aren't used to white bridesmaid's gowns on this side of the pond, I didn't think it took anything away from Kate, she was the center of attention.

Interesting that the commentators were all saying it was the Halo tiara, but when you look at the pictures it clearly wasn't.

Got back in from sending my older boys off to school and thought I would have missed the kiss, but it was 7:25 and they weren't even out on the balcony yet. Sweet that they made history by kissing twice. I don't know why the commentators for ABC were disappointed. They've been together for 8 years, it's not like it was their first kiss.

Divia, the point about not kissing was with regard to the end of the ceremony in the Abbey. It's not done inside a church as part of the ceremony. The kiss on the balcony started with Charles and Diana when the crowd was shouting for a kiss, and has been tradition since then. I'm with you on bare shouldered brides. A return to elegance in wedding gowns will be refreshing.

My oldest got up to watch the wedding with me and we talked a bit about the way royal marriagess used to be all about politics. It was nice to answer his question about "why are they getting married?" with "Because they love each other." :D
They didn't call it the scroll one though. Thats what I found, a different image.
Yeah, I'm sure them calling it a halo tiara confused a lot of people, but when I saw it, I knew I had seen it before, in my book and when I found it, it wasn't a halo tiara.

I never said anything about them kissing?

I like the halo one better, personally. its more vintage looking. Don't get me wrong I'd take both, but I like the halo better. :p

I also thought James Middleton did a bang up job with his reading. That and the first song were big highlights for me.

I liked this from a news article (CNN reporter, I think):
William gave Catherine a ring of Welsh gold, but she didn't return the favor -- and she did not, in her vows, promise to obey him.

Of course, if William does some day become king, Catherine will then presumably have to obey him.
Re the car, the same article reported:
The car is one Prince Charles has owned since 1969 and had converted in 2008 to run on biofuel made from English wine wastage, his office announced.

wine waste! Hmm! Never heard of that. :)

The more I think about it the more I'm glad she didn't go big...huge dress etc. I would really like some close up details though.

Sorry Divia, I got you mixed up with SonjaMarie. Though you did tell Ken to kiss off. ;)

That link about the dress has the wrong tiara listed as well. I wonder how long it will take everyone in the media to figure out the mistake.

Oh I'm sure they're coming! And copies will be available and tons of brides will be wearing the dress! And copies of the tiara as well!
