Anyone else planning on referring to the Duchess of Cambridge as Princess Kate regardless?
She's still a Princess regardless of that title as Prince William is still a Prince. And once Charles becomes King, assuming he doesn't die before his mother (I have strong feelings about that), William will most likely be made the Prince of Wales.

Since it was announced that she would be referred to as HRH the Duchess of Cambridge, the sticklers will stay with that, but I bet the press will be using Princess Kate right quick. (She might also be referred to as Princess William of Wales) It's pretty much a given that William will be Prince of Wales some day, given that it's looking that the Windsors are long lived, not to mention Prince Philip, looking a bit drawn today, but still pretty darn spry at 89.

I reckon you're right, Tely. Although the commentators were reverently calling her Catherine yesterday, I'm sure she'll become "Princess Kate" pretty quickly. I think that because the Princess of Wales title is so much associated with Diana, they wanted to give Kate an optional title which would be her own, and let's face it, the poor girl is always going to be dogged by her famous mother-in-law.

I do hope the Duchess will get her own identity, and not get too mired in the Princess Diana bit; she deserves better than that. (I know, I know, I must be the only not-fan of Princess Di in the world, but after reading about her verbal castration of her husband at a state reception, I lost a lot of respect for her)

Ok, onto more royal swag:

Which do people think is nicer? The top one is a Wedgewood, whilst the other is from the Royal Collection.

Princess William of Wales sounds funny, so I will just call her Princess Kate. I'm a Yank. I can do what I want. :D When William does become Prince of Wales, I think she will be called Princess of Wales. Also have this idea that their first daughter will be named Diana.

I like the blue in the Wedgewood box, but the other has a better overall design.

That Princess (husband's name) is an old holdover from the Victorian period where they were very stuffy about how a spouse was referred to if they were of unequal rank. Kate will definitely be the Princess of Wales when the time comes; fortunately, she doesn't have any past history to clutter things up. Oh, I'm pretty certain their first daughter will have Diana among her names...

The second box looks much better in person than the photos show. And the inside of it is quite pretty, with two doves and a ribbon and other sorts of frippery.

In my opinion the only woman who pulls off the man's name is Princess Michael of Kent, I like it, but then again there is the actress Michael Learned, so I'm used to it being a woman's name.

You can buy a doll dressed as the bride now:

(I wish someone would make the dress in Barbie size.)

How do they produce these things so quickly?! It's a lovely doll. Just looking at Kate's wedding dress on TV you don't realise how much detail there is on the skirt- I guess it's lace applique, but you can see it here:

And in case the doll is too expensive, there is a more affordable ornament ($24.99):

I also wonder how they are able to recreate the dress so quickly. I can see them having the face already done.
