Sorry I Vanished!!!!

Post by rockygirl » Wed June 6th, 2012, 1:29 am

I'm back now. I started researching and writing a family history (genealogy is one of my passions), which is why I took a break in the first place.

Then, I got a new assignment at work, which required a lot of reading of young adult fiction, and not so much fun reading for me.

But, this summer I plan to read what I want (although I do have to reread Call of the Wild, which I remember hating).

Sorry I vanished without warning. I hope I will be forgiven! ;)

I come and go

Post by DanielAWillis » Sat February 2nd, 2013, 5:23 pm

I suspect some people are like me. They go through periods where they chat a lot on line and periods where they don't.

2012 was a very busy year for me. I published 3 books (4 if you count an annual that update every January). Only one of them was fiction so it is the only one I really mention much on here.

I write a lot of non-fiction about Europe's royal families so that occupies a lot of my time.

Now I am working on a new fasntasy novel, but it is not historical in nature. I am content to self-publish my non-fiction because it has a bit of a niche market that I am well plugged into, but I am seeking a publisher for my fiction.

When I am on pack on the path of my hiostorical fantasy series, I'll be back more often.

Interest in HF: I love history, but it's boring in school. Historical fiction brings it alive for me.

I don't post here much because I don't feel I fit in, despite enjoying the same type of books as everyone else. :o :o :o The last I heard from Jules Watson, though, she'd moved here to the US temporarily and was working on a new novel in the process. Haven't heard from her in quite a while, actually.

Nice to hear from you Rowan! Everyone fits in here! :)

I find I don't end up posting too much as I spend more time chasing up book recommendations from everyone! Can't resist checking a couple of times a day to see you is reading/buying what.
