CBS News and the royal wedding
CBS News and the royal wedding
CBS News had a report on the royal wedding last night and the reporter gave vent to a subject which has occupied both my wife and I for some time now, namely the weight loss being experienced by Kate Middleton. I always thought she was a very attractive young woman but I was shocked recently to see how thin she has become. In fact she looks anorexic and very unattractive to me. The reporter said that the strain of the whole affair has resulted in poor Kate dropping from size 10 to size 4. I think this is terrible if (as it seems) she is losing weight to that extent. It would be even greater cause for concern if she's been deliberately dieting in order to "look good" on the big day. I just wonder if all this "carry on" is worth it for her health's sake. Some people just aren't able for too much pressure.

I've been noticing that too. I hope they go someplace with really good and fattening food during the honeymoon and she can gain it all back.
Is there any chance someone's been airbrushing photos to maker her look thinner than she really is just to create a story? That happens in the American media. It's a hideous thing to do.

It is not at all unusual for young women to lose quite a bit of weight leading up their wedding; in fact, in my experience I'd say it's unusual for a young woman not to lose weight. It's a combination of nerves, being so extremely busy with all the preparation, and wanting to look really good on that day.
Unfortunately, in Kate's case everything little thing about her becomes fodder for the media and their hype machine ........

Its true as Michy said taht most women lose weight. Never been married myself, and doubtful I ever will, I can't say for myself. BUt it does seem logical that this would happen.
Kate has a lot of stress on her. The entire world will be watching what she is wearing, how she acts and how she looks.. There is little doubt in my mind that she would lose weight given the circumstances.
