A modern-day Madame Tussaud, sort of?

Post by Matt Phillips » Fri April 8th, 2011, 10:17 pm

George Stuart makes 1/4 size statuettes of famous historical figures, some of which are currently on display at Bill Clinton's presidential library. You can see photos of them here:

I'm not sure what his materials are - "mixed media," in at least some cases - but in my opinion they are as lifelike as many you'd find at Madame Tussaud's (at least judging from these photos).

I love the decadence and arrogance of the Henry VIII one - He seems to be leering at the viewer, saying, "Indeed, and what are you going to do about it?"
