Like in Alfonso d'Este. Is it "Este", with one syllable, or "Es-tay"? Or something else?

It's two syllables, with the stress pretty much evenly measured between them, or slightly more on the first syllable. The second e is shortish, not a long "ay" sound. Kind of like the first two syllables of the word "destiny."
