Sites to Waste Your Time

Post by Rowan » Wed March 16th, 2011, 7:51 pm

Forgive me if there's already a thread on this kind of thing, but my search didn't find anything. :p

I have found a great alternative to wasting hours since I can no longer view the Cheezburger sites here at work. It's called (The customer is) Not Always Right and this is the kind of stuff they have on there:
(My boss is a realtor; she has sign toppers for various occasions. This one happened to be for the Christmas season: “Home for the Holidays”.)

Customer: “I’m calling about the ‘Home for the Holidays’ house.”

Me: “Sure, what’s the address?”

(She reads it to me.)

Me: “Okay, how can I help you?”

Customer: “When can I move in?”

Me: “Excuse me? I’m sorry–do you mean you want to write an offer for the house?”

Customer: “No, it says ‘Home for the Holidays.’ I want to move in before Christmas.”

Me: “Ma’am, I’m sorry. We’re not giving the house away, we’re selling it.”

Customer: “Well I can’t afford a house!” *click*

Anyone know of any others?

Goodreads is major time suck. Come and play with us.

Google also has a virtual Versailles but I'll have to hunt it down and get back to you later.

That's never been a site to really suck my time away. Not sure why. I mean I have an account and all, but I have yet to spend more than a short time on there in one go.

Once you start making friends and getting bunches of update feeds it's a whole different ball game.

I've heard Facebook is a big timesuck, but I don't spend that much time on it. Of course I don't play Farmville.

Access to Facebook is blocked at work now so I can't waste time there anymore. :( Didn't play Farmville, but I played others.

Oh wow.....I think I'll be sucked into the black hole of 'the customer is not always right' for quite some time...I worked in customer service and retail for over 20 years....thank you (or perhaps curse you *laughs*) for that site!!!
Live Journal is perhaps my largest piddle away the time site...I've had an account there for a long time and spend hours keeping up with friends and communities when I should be working!
