Have you hugged a nun lately?

Post by Rowan » Tue March 15th, 2011, 12:59 pm

A quirky thread title, I grant you, but I have found new respect for any women who choose to become nuns. I'm in a local production of The Sound of Music as a nun and for the first time I put on my costume last night. As far as I can tell, they are exactly like what a real nun would wear and... holy cow that thing is hot!! I'm half convinced now that I will sweat off 100 lbs. easily over the next few weeks. LOL I don't know how these women do it. Especially before the invention of the air conditioner.

LOL. I imagine it helps to not be standing under the white hot lights of the stage.

However, hugs might increase the warmth factor. ;)

Argh, I think I'd die. Imagine all the clothing women wore years ago, the corsets, hoops and what not. No thanks.

Good for you, I bet you'll have fun with this. I love that show.

Thanks Misfit. I'm a nervous wreck right now, tbh. We open Saturday night and I have never done theatre before. At least not on stage. I've always been back stage.

You'll be fine, Rowan. Theater is a lot of fun.

Good luck!

Although, those habits are before Vactian II (most likely). I hate the newer habits. Love the old school ones.
