My thanks to all of you. Today is housecleaning day, and I almost hate to clean up all her fur. The house is ... so quiet.
In a little joy, my nieces got a new dog yesterday morning. Siddy is dead - long live little Maggie. A friend of mine once told me that her resistance to getting a puppy crumbled when she met my girl, because she was so good and so dear - so Siddy made it possible for another dog to have a home.
She was a blessing to more than only me, and I'm so grateful to have had her in my life. I miss her rotten. I only hope I didn't wait too long ... or come to this too soon. My poor beautiful girl.

I'm sorry for your loss Diane. I so wish dog lives and human lives were of the same span.
My sincere condolences.

I'm so sorry for your loss; there really are no words that can fill the void your beautiful girl has left behind. The only words that I have ever found to help are those of the rainbow bridge poem. To know that once we pass on, our four legged loved ones will be waiting for us gives a little bit of comfort. I know my three loved ones "Maggie, Roly, and Foxy" will welcome your sweetheart with many licks and tail wags. Take care and know you have many virtual hugs coming your way.
I'd say a crazed gunman mowing down innocent people in a movie theater in Aurora, CO is a cinch for worst thing today.
I agree and even sadder not one news commentator has mentioned gun laws.
How can people walk in off the street and buy machine guns? It doesn't make sense to me.
My prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones and the survivors. God be with them.

These movies seem to be cursed. The last one was blighted by the tragedy of Heath Ledger's death and now even more tragedy. Sigh, may they rest in peace and the gun man burn in hell when he gets there, soon I hope!

That will come up later, Rebecca. It's too soon and would be disrespectful at this point to turn political, which that discussion always does.
