Interest in HF: started in childhood with the classics, which, IMHO are HF even if they were contemporary when written.
Favorite HF book: Prince of Foxes, by Samuel Shellabarger
Preferred HF: Currently prefer 1600 and earlier, but I'll read anything that keeps me turning the page.

Thanks everybody. I'm ok I think (not really sure, I'm a little numb). Worried about Mom. I might not be around so much for a few days. I really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers.

The worst thing today--we'll make it this lifetime, actually--is that our youngest son has moved from a diagnosis of 'bipolar-sometimes delusional' to borderline schizophrenic.

This child--who is now 30--has pretty much been a full-time job on top of a full-time job for the last fifteen years. And he's much bigger than either of us, and sometimes rather scary.

not new to me--I have five schizophrenic first cousins--but very depressing.

my heart goes out to the parents of the guy in Arizona. But I have no answers except prayer.
