You know, after I posted my comment last night I took my copy off the shelf and thumbed through it and re-read the scene where Rhett proposes to Scarlett. *sigh* I think I may have to re-read the book this summer. It's actually been about 20 years since I've read it. My first three readings of GWTW were fairly close together -- my teens, early 20s and mid-20s -- so it will be interesting to see how I respond to the book now that I have so much more of life under my belt...... I have no doubt that I will still love it, but probably in a very different way.
I have the entire movie musical score on CD, so I may listen to that while I read to help set the atmosphere.
