AmazonCrossing and HF

I'm wondering if anyone else has been paying attention to (or has read any of the new releases from) AmazonCrossing, the new Amazon.com imprint that publishes English translations of popular foreign-language titles.

Here's an article about it from Publishers Weekly last May, and Amazon has more details on its own site. Three of their books could be considered historical novels: one set in 17th-c Germany, another in mid-20th c China, and a third in 19th-c France and Africa. The Hangman's Daughter by Oliver Pötzsch got a very positive review in January's Booklist, which caught my attention. I hope there'll be more translations of historical fiction to come. FWIW, Oliver Pötzsch's novels on Amazon.de are extremely highly rated.

I wouldn't read the book, because its not my thing, however this is great. It opens up the rest of the world to us. I'm excited. Perhaps I can finally get some good Russian HF.
