Let us know how you get on with Lady Kate. Glad you got it cheaply as I paid full price for mine and didn't make it far (sigh). I'll say more later. It's a collector's item of sorts, so I should be able to unload it on a Wars of the Roses fanatic easily enough :D Jan Westcott is good, though - rather rose-tinted and romanticized, but I've enjoyed what I read of hers.
I couldn't make it far with Lady Kate either (fortunately, it was cheap on Kindle). The first couple of chapters were more genealogy than plot.

Speaking of which, I knew I had a good price on it and there were two at the same price and I was panicked I'd get a *no longer in stock* email and the other would be gone and I ordered both. It was a GC so I'm not out cash. I will shortly have two copies so if anyone is willing to negotiate please contact me :)

You need to add DNF or similar to your shelves at Goodreads so we know these things ;)

Sometimes the books I finish are worse than the ones I don't finish. I've been known to set aside novels that aren't really bad--just bland--while finishing novels that are truly bad, but entertainingly so.

I got George Goodwin's Fatal Colours, NF about the Battle of Towton, in the mail today. I got a good chunk of it read during dinner--it's well written and fair to both sides.

More deep-discounted Borders purchases:

Dearest Cousin Jane by Jill Pitkeathley

Queen Hereafter by Susan Fraser King

For a Queen's Love by Jean Plaidy

1536: The Year That Changed Henry VIII by Suzannah Lipscomb

My husband said, "Well, that ought to hold you for a while." I just sighed forbearingly.
