LOL. She may have embraced her name then! I agree.

I have to say that May is growing on me as a person. I read a book about her written in 1920 and the same person who wrote the non fiction book about Louisa and May is writing one just about May. she was very interesting as well. Makes you wonder what would have become of her life had she not died so young.

I'll tell you I think Eight Cousins/ Rose in Bloom is my favorite book series from Alcott, more so than the Little Women Triology, if one can call it that. She lets her radical side come out...women should go for walks etc., children shouldnt drink coffee and the fashion was horrible on health.

[/quote] I'm about half-way through Little Men and it's a good story, and the narrator is very good, but I can understand why I never re-read it after my initial reading at about age 12. It's not half as captivating as Little Women.

Just ordered a copy of Eight Cousins through a book swap.
