Just got back from sailing the Leeward and Windward Islands. Highlights were visiting Blackbeard's Castle on St. Thomas, seeing a wonderful replica of the Bounty in San Juan and generally being back on the pirate seas!
But every paradise has its price - we were involved in a car accident in Puerto Rico (thankfully no one was badly hurt).
My favorite island is St. Lucia. Anyone else been there?

I've only been to the Caribbean once and it was over 10 years ago. Hubby and I went to Barbados for vacation. It was fun, we drove all over the island, but the tourist industry is very aggressive about finding you and pushing their wares when you arrive. I realize that's how they make their living, though.
I know a lot of people who like to do the Caribbean cruises (one of the people I work for does a Christmas cruise every year). I don't think I'll ever persuade my husband to go on one. Before we met, he served six years in the Navy, did a world tour on an aircraft carrier. Hoteling on a boat is not a good time for him.
