When I was Stationed in Germany I paid thirty-five 1955 dollars for a hand carved set of wooden figures by a Latvian service worker -- Mongols (white) vs. Christians (dark brown).
For non-negotiable $100US a store had a set of faces painted in color with various expressions of drunkenness. I wish I could have afford that as well.
